Jackson Five

Christmas shopping with Amy yesterday.

She: “Why don’t we get a Jackson Five record?”

Me: “Yeah, why the hell not?”

It was such a good call. We both grew up with all those original J5 songs on the car radio. I had forgotten just how good this stuff is. Great wake up music. Great pop songs.

I feel so sorry for Michael Jackson, to have done all his best work before the age of 10.

  3. I’m looking for J5 concerts on Video or DVD as well. Any luck? There was one concert televised in 71. The “Going Back to Indiana TV special. The second hr. was a concert in Indianna. I found a CD of it but can’t find a video.

  5. Yes there is stuff out there…. There is a very good web site that has the Going Back to Indiana TV show as well as Jackson Concerts and some Jackson 5 Cartoons (5). I have aslo seen a Jackson 5 Video here and there on E-bay mostly a 1975 Mexico and Japan. The web site I refered to is shadowgames.com. Also if I can get your E-mails I have (when I convert them) PDF files of the original Gary Indiana Newspaper Ads of the only time the Jackson 5 came to Gary. I was born and still live and Gary and was lucky enough to see them in early years (including Pre-Motown).
    Be carful on the internet for a Jackson 5 Poster for the Gary concert it is a FAKE (Shows appearing with the Supremes at Grand Hall). Well good luck on your hunt.

  10. I am looking for footage of the jacksons live. It’s the concert that was made into an lp back in 1982 if i’m not mistaken. If anyone has this concert on vhs please contact me. Also footage of the victory tour. The jackson live was before the thriller album came out so he actually sung two songs from “Off The Wall” with his brothers.

  11. There’s a guy on ebay who claims to have superb quality dvd of the victory tour which includes bonus footage of the jacksons back stage and some award ceremonies. He says that it’s not the crap that’s floating around of the victory tour in dallas and kansas city. He says this was professionally done by a french journalist who followed the jacksons on the tour. Only thing is this guy lives overseas. I’m kind of skeptical but if anyone can tell me if it’s legit i’ll break my neck to get a copy immediately. Go on ebay and type victory tour dvd and it should pop up.

    Gosh, I can’t believe Sony and or MJJ hasn’t published DVD copies of the brothers in concert…, that really sucks, because all the other great groups of yesteryear such as The Commodores, Earth, Wind and Fire etc., are out there on the market with DVDs’ of their good times back then, but nothin’ of the Jacksons…! Randy, Jermaine, Marlon, Jackie and Tito were great too…! C’mon, folks, let’s petition for releases of The Jacksons live concerts on DVD.

  14. Yes lets petition for alll Jackson/J5/Michael/Jermaine stuff on video to be put on the market. No one can touch these guys.
    Elvis, The Beatles and even the great Motown artists pale in comparison. No act combines the look, sound, movement and that intangible magic that is the Jackson 5.
