Chocolate Powder of England

Miles: “I’m going to sprinkle magic dust on your head and make you a rock and roll star! You’ll play drums and I’ll play xylophone.”

We then proceeded to form a series of bands with the following names, each of them dutifully introduced to an audience of one (Amy) with a shouted “El Cerrito, are you read to rock and roll?,” changing instrumentation with each iteration, none of them lasting longer than a few minutes:

The Electric Motors
Plato of the USA
The Growing Plant of the Maraca That’s Been Fired
Chocolate Powder of England
Blue Bamboo
The Electric Pennies
Chalk Dust Slipper

  1. Could I get Blue Bamboo to do a cover of The Lemon Pipers’ Green Tambourine ?

  2. I like the fact that Chocolate Powder of England infers that there is a another Chocolate Powder outside England that has a following. Sort of like The Charlatans (UK) or The Subhumans (Canada).

Where’s the amphitheater located in El Cerrito? And what corporate sponsor has commandeered it and given it an awkward name?

  3. Where’s the amphitheater located in El Cerrito?

The nearest is actually at the Albany Bulb. It’s a smallish one, perfect for a bonfire fete. See you there.

And what corporate sponsor has commandeered it and given it an awkward name?

It’s called The Curious George Simian Wonder Amphitheater. A mouthful, eh?
