Back in 2001, I had some fun with Leonard Nimoy’s monologue Visit To a Sad Planet by shooting a series of overly literal scenes illustrating the piece, and editing them in Adamation’s personalStudio for BeOS. Decided tonight to put it up on YouTube, just because I could, and to see if gets any traction.
The Sad Planet page describes a bit of the shooting process.
Scot,
That was great! Burnt vegetation! Chicken-headed man! Heehee!
Scott, is it possible to get a copy of Personal Studio anywhere? I tried to download it but cant seem to find a link that works. I loved BeOS back in the day. I started messing with it in 97 all the way up to the end. I still have the BeOS demo vhs they sent out as a promo… It shows how smooth and seamless video editing was back then on BeOS.. it just blew the mac out of the water.. I worked for a small local isp and had a blast running 10 quicktime videos at the same time for folks that came in to the shop. All the audio freaks were blown out of the water to see 12 mp3’s running without skipping!
I still like to install it and mess around with it on my pc at home. It brings back some good memories.
I don’t know where you can get a copy of personalStudio, but I know on the latest incarnation of BeOS (a German-based distribution called Zeta OS) it includes a built-in video editor called, appropriately, VideoEditor.
