History as though seen through the eyes of Fox News. Bril.
Speaking of Fox, there was hardly any mention of the fact that Bill O’Reilly was pre-empted throughout the entirety of the Iraq war. Lord, sweet respite. Did Fox feel he was just too inflammatory to be set loose on such a sensitive subject? He’s the network’s biggest draw, and it was as if they just decided to put a lid on the garbage can for a few weeks.

Wow. “The garbage can.”
Can I say that about Noam Chomsky or Howard Zinn without being flamed?
Every side has its vocal wing. And at least O’Reilly’s conservativism (thus far) is fairly prudent. I find Limbaugh to be far more lock-step, and others even more so.
The best O’Reilly episodes, by far, are when he gets conservative boobs on there that think Bill will soft touch them, and he burns them.
He’s out there. But he does, I think, promote a healthy and pragmatic debate.

Sure — no flaming here… But as much as Chomsky seems to take every opportunity to blame America for everything, you can’t argue that he has a much better handle on U.S. politics and world history than O’Reilly, who is basically just a provocateur (I’m being charitable).
Don’t get me wrong, I like to watch O’Reilly because he provokes, because I enjoy seeing issues explored. I’d even call him “smart.” But he’s not a fair debater, not a gracious host, and seems more interested in spewing invective and poison than in hunting down truth.

You’re right about that. None of them as bad as Michael Savage. I would just rather see someone in O’Reilly’s slot who was as interested in actually discussing matters than in pushing buttons and shutting people down. He’s just an incredibly unpleasant individual.

I’ve enjoyed that spectacle as well ;)

It’s because his debate style is NOT healthy that he bothers me so much. Amy cant’ even stand to be in the same room when his show is on, and I know a lot of people feel the same.
