For the Boston Globe, Hermenaut‘s Josh Glenn got Boing-Boing‘s Mark Fraunfelder to decode some of the icons that frequently appear on the world’s most popular blog. Hey, any video stream that can display the face of J.R. Bob Dobbs without going to snow is champ in my book. Hmmm… would love to hear Dawkins or Hitchens comment on the Church of the Subgenius sometime.

Sure! Got a quote? :)
Dawkins has made references to the Flying Spaghetti Monster, so he’s certainly not averse to good satire.
I love that about the Flying Spaghetti Monster argument — sounds ridiculous, but it’s totally serious (well, the ridiculousness of it is its point…)
Scot, have you discovered The High Weirdness Project Bulldada Newsblog webpage? Filled with daily amusements it is.

And of course, its enveloping website, http://www.modemac.com/cgi-bin/wiki.pl
Praise the Flying Bob-Monster!
Larry – Yes! I added the link to High Weirdness to the sidebar here a couple-three months ago…
Once upon a time I thought the SubGenius would change my life. Now it just makes me dizzy. In a weird way, SubGenius is like the Flying Spaghetti Monster actually writ large into a “full-on” religion.
Have you ever read Ivan Stang’s book “High Weirdness by Mail”?
I’ve got it here at home — got it in the late ’80s, and it’s still one of the prizes in my book collection.
For that matter, have you ever heard of or read Ted Schultz’s “The Fringes of Reason”, also from the late ’80s? It’s a marvel of critical thinking.
You know, I don’t think I ever managed to pick that one up, though I remember it’s name floating around in the SubGenii world around then. “The Fringe of Reason” sounds great, thanks for the tip.
