You don’t hear much about them anymore because we fixed them – in the 70s it was still possible for scientists and industry and the public to agree on facts, mobilize, and act. Now we’ve got a new and larger problem – microplastics in the rain. But this one is harder to solve, and we’ve lost the ability to cooperate.
